READ Art Show

Each year, I donate several works that I have created to local non-profits that I support. The New Community School in Richmond, an independent school for kids challenged by dyslexia and other language-based learning difficulties, is at the top of this list.

This year, the parents association for the school will hold its 8th annual art show and sale. Talented regional artists display, sell and donate a variety of works of art. This year the event will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9. Proceeds from the art sales will support the specialized academic program and providing need-based financial aid.

On Friday, April 8, a reception will be held with cocktails and hor d’oeuvres at the show. For information click on the image above. It’s a good cause and, at the very least, a nice way to spend an evening.

On Saturday, the show is open to the public (although many of the art works are sold on Friday). At times, there are some bargains for art shoppers as prices drop on this second day of the show. Y’all come.

I will be donating three pieces to the show this year; as of this post, I’m not sure which ones (if time permits, I'll post pics of which ones; stay tuned).
